Pick a build by playstyle

There is no single Sephiria build that is best for every run. Start with the result you want: easy defense, ranged safety, freeze control, sustained fire, elemental casting, Katana critical damage, or an experimental automatic-damage route.

Frozen Smelt Dagger build

Frozen Smelt is a low-input control route. Its secondary attack freezes normal enemies before they close the gap, while the Wings-lost Bat Costume adds recovery when a small hit gets through.

Setup

Slot Choice
Costume Wings-lost Bat
Weapon Dagger → Sleeping Frost → Frozen Smelt
Talents Base 5, Will 20, Anger 20, Wisdom 5
Miracle Hunter
Combos Glacier and Precision
Fruit Skewer Adaptive Drop Bonus 1, Glacier 3, Precision 2
Wishing Well Amulet of Aspiration and Blue Claws

Artifact priority

Take Ice Snow, Ice Seagull, and Frozen Egg first; these are the freeze core. Add Libra or Amulet when they strengthen Glacier without disrupting the inventory. Once the freeze loop works, use Berut’s Sickle, Walter’s Work Monocle, Pointed Bat, Warm Stone, Sword Earring, Green Tooth, or Black Scales to improve Precision.

Library Miniature and Swaying Eyes are useful defensive choices. Angry Potato, Wanderer’s Blessing, Storm, Fascinating Lure, and Magic Carrot are flex pieces, not reasons to delay the core.

Build order and play

  1. Start with Amulet of Aspiration and Blue Claws.
  2. Follow Dagger → Sleeping Frost → Frozen Smelt.
  3. Complete the three-piece freeze core before collecting optional critical damage.
  4. Use the secondary attack to stop packs at the edge of melee range.
  5. Watch MP during boss fights; add an MP source if the repeated secondary attack cannot be sustained.

If two freeze pieces are still missing after Sleeping Frost, stop forcing Glacier and continue as a Dagger/Precision build.

Formless Dance Staff build

Formless Dance keeps enemies at Javelin range while attack speed, evasion, and frequent-hit recovery work together. Two useful versions exist; choose one complete starting package instead of mixing both.

Deer video setup

Slot Choice
Costume Deer
Weapon Staff → Throwing Spear → Formless Dance
Miracle Duelist
Combos Firmness, Shadow, and Spring Song
Core Artifacts Mysterious Weight, Wings, and Six-leaf Clover
Preset Available with the original video build

This is the simpler option for players who want a preset and visible boss run. Stay at range, keep attacking when the lane is safe, and treat evasion as backup rather than permission to stand in a lethal pattern.

Red Fox sustain setup

Slot Choice
Costume Red Fox
Talents Base 10, Will 20, Anger 10; spare points into Rapid
Miracle Duelist
Combos Spring Song and Shadow, with Firmness support
Fruit Skewer Shadow 2, Spring Song 2, Firmness 2
Wishing Well Bloodstone Earrings and Talisman of Talent

Bloodstone Earrings provide the recovery this version needs, and Six-leaf Clover anchors the evasion package. Build Spring Song with Wings, Wanderer’s Necklace, Colorless Cube, Swordsmanship Textbook, or Silver Bracelet. Add Firmness through Mysterious Weight, Agma Projection Sword, Crown of Humility, Mark of Warrior, Glass Hammer, or Viscosity.

If Bloodstone Earrings are unavailable, do not force the Red Fox version. If Six-leaf Clover never appears, use efficient Talisman of Talent copies temporarily or pivot to ranged Firmness/Precision.

Minigun Crossbow build

Minigun is for sustained ranged pressure. It feels strong only when MP, firing cadence, and movement remain stable, so the route should be built as an engine rather than a collection of attack-speed items.

White Rabbit video setup

Slot Choice
Costume White Rabbit
Weapon Heavy Crossbow → Unstable Lightning Mark → Minigun
Combos Firmness, Precision, and Magitech
Core Artifacts Blue Wrist Guard, Brass Mirror Fragment, Walter’s Work Monocle
Miracle options Hunter, Assassin, or the matching Lightning Miracle
Preset Available with the original Hard 35 video

Keep firing while MP is stable, but leave enough room to dodge major patterns. The recorded build is not a reason to assume infinite MP on every patch.

Scholar Lizard tank setup

Slot Choice
Costume Scholar Lizard
Talents Will 20, Anger 20, Patience 10
Miracle Electromancer; Valet for the safer option
Combos Guardian and Magic Engineering
Fruit Skewer Adaptive Drop Bonus 1, Guardian 3, Magic Engineering 2
Wishing Well Cloth Armor and White Bread; Heart of the Beast is an alternative

Reach Guardian 10 first with pieces such as Heart of the Beast, White Bread, Shield Bag, Cloth Armor, Broken Mirror, Hand Mirror, or Lizard Sheet. Then build Magic Engineering with Giraffe Horns, Stinging Bug, Brain, Thunder, Calges, or Lightning Amulet. Add Precision only after the shield and MP loop works.

If sustained fire still drains MP, add regeneration or absorption. When the run cannot support Minigun uptime, switch to burst Crossbow instead of holding an empty firing loop.

Guardian Greatsword build

Guardian Greatsword is the most forgiving option here for learning Hard Mode. It gives up fast boss kills in exchange for defense, repeated-hit lifesteal, and a core that does not depend on many legendary items.

Setup

Slot Choice
Costume Rabbit
Weapon Steel Greatsword → Bone Mechanism Sword → Creaking Spine
Talents Will 20 and Patience 20
Miracle Valet
Combos Guardian and Spring Song
Fruit Skewer Guardian 3 and Spring Song 3
Wishing Well Bloodstone Earrings and Cloth Armor

Artifact priority

Build Guardian with Rock Elephant, Heart of the Beast, Hand Mirror, and Lizard Sheet. Rock Elephant is especially valuable because this defensive route otherwise lacks damage. Build Spring Song with Wings, Wanderer’s Necklace, Colorless Cube, Pallas Card, Flag of Encouragement, or Swordsmanship Textbook.

Pot Lid helps MP, Pure Cloak supports the short self-buff, and Sheet Music: Breeze improves room clear. Upgrade Bloodstone Earrings early so its defense penalty does not undermine the Guardian plan.

Build order and play

  1. Start with Bloodstone Earrings and Cloth Armor.
  2. Follow Steel Greatsword → Bone Mechanism Sword → Creaking Spine.
  3. Reach Guardian 10 and Spring Song 10 before adding side packages.
  4. Keep the Creaking Spine buff active when MP allows.
  5. Use defense and lifesteal for ordinary trades, but still dodge large boss attacks.

If Spring Song refuses to assemble, keep Guardian and use the open cells for efficient Firmness damage.

Infinite Elemental Bolt Staff build

This caster route sends homing elemental projectiles after moving targets. It has a powerful finished state but needs disciplined inventory choices because the Bolt, Academy, and multi-element pieces compete for space.

Setup

Slot Choice
Costume Ghost
Weapon Staff → Flame Staff → Elemental Fusion Staff Ilonica
Talents Base 20, Will 20, Anger 10; prioritize Will, then Base, then Anger
Miracle Elementalist
Combos Academy and Element
Fruit Skewer Academy 3, Ember 1, Glacier 1, Magic Engineering 1
Starting choice Triple Bolt, or Rat Wizard’s Pendant + Bishopric Crown

Artifact priority

Choose one opening: Lightning Bolt + Ice Bolt + Fire Bolt, or Rat Wizard’s Pendant + Bishopric Crown. Collect the missing part of the engine during the run rather than demanding all five items immediately.

For Academy, prioritize Wizard, Craving, Agbae Tree Fruit, Pearl Powder, Jewelry Armor, Academy Brigandine, Combat Wizard Gloves, Meditation Books, or Riley Congregation Clock. Libra, Sealed Tejas, and Plasma Helmet efficiently bridge multiple elements. Build Ember, Glacier, and Magic Engineering with the best dual-purpose pieces available instead of filling the grid with weak single tags.

Follow Staff → Flame Staff → Elemental Fusion Staff Ilonica after the opening is functional. Leave room behind the character because repeated attacks push the caster backward. If neither starting engine develops by the first major upgrade, commit to the strongest single element already in the bag.

Biryuu Katana build

Biryuu turns wide Katana attacks into a normal-attack and final-hit critical route. It suits active melee play: the damage loop is straightforward, but Katana Block and MP discipline still matter during unsafe boss patterns.

Setup

Slot Choice
Costume Red Fox
Weapon Katana → Sword-Arc Blade: Cheongwangsak → Sword-Arc Blade: Biryu
Talents Will 20, Base 10, Anger 20, in that unlock order
Miracle Hunter
Combos Firmness and Precision
Fruit Skewer Adaptive Drop Bonus 1, Precision 2, Firmness 3
Wishing Well Crown of Humility and Criton

Artifact priority

Use Mysterious Weight, Agma Projection Sword, Rabbit Village Guard Helm, Glass Hammer, Viscosity, Amulet of Power, Mark of Warrior, or Silver Plate to build Firmness. For Precision, Pride is the core interaction and Berut’s Sickle is the next major damage choice. Walter’s Work Monocle, Black Scales, Pointed Bat, Warm Stone, Sword Earring, Defect Probe, Sharp Eye, and Green Tooth fill out critical chance, critical damage, and Execute.

Use Katana Strong Slash normally before the first Anvil upgrade. After the route comes online, hold normal attack and tap secondary attack to repeat the wide strike. Without Pride, continue as a standard Firmness/Precision Katana instead of overinvesting in final-hit Execute.

Planet build retest

Planet remains an experimental 1.0 route rather than a finished recommendation. The most useful starting point is Heavy Crossbow → Acceleration Core with a Planet threshold and attack-cycle support.

Prioritize Ashen, Yellow, Red, Blue, Sky-blue, and White Planets; add Black Planet when available. Giant Telescope and Sheet Music ‘Galaxy’ support the attack cycle. Astronomer is the first Miracle to test, while Red Planet Observation Log, Wind Song pieces, and Crystal of Harmony are optional bridges when they fit without breaking the Planet core.

Do not force every Planet color at the cost of a functioning run. If Giant Telescope or Galaxy does not assemble, pivot to the attack-speed route that is already working. There is no public current 1.0 Planet preset in the reviewed builds.

What to do when the build misses

Planned build Protect first Pivot when the core is missing
Frozen Smelt Glacier freeze core Dagger + Precision
Formless Dance Recovery, evasion, and attack speed Ranged Firmness + Precision
Minigun MP and a stable firing loop Burst Crossbow
Guardian Greatsword Guardian defense Defensive Greatsword + Firmness
Elemental Bolt One complete element Single-element caster
Biryuu Katana Firmness and critical core Standard Katana critical route
Planet Planet threshold and cycle engine Working attack-speed route

The best reward is the one that improves an engine already functioning in the current run. Stop collecting weak pieces from several unfinished Combos simply because the ideal Artifact did not appear.

Sephiria builds FAQ

What is the easiest build for a beginner?

Guardian Greatsword is the safest starting recommendation because Guardian, lifesteal, and Spring Song cover mistakes while the player learns boss patterns. Frozen Smelt is another approachable option once its three freeze Artifacts are available.

Which builds have usable presets?

The Deer Formless Dance and White Rabbit Minigun video variants have public preset codes. The Planet route does not have a current public preset. A preset plans the configuration but does not guarantee that every reward appears in the run.

How do I import a preset code?

Copy the complete single-line code beginning with AAF_PRESET_OBFZ| into Sephiria’s preset import field. Remove accidental spaces or line breaks if the code is rejected, and confirm that the required unlocks exist on the current save.

Are older 1.0 builds still usable?

They remain strong starting templates, but later patches can change MP costs, weapon triggers, Combo thresholds, or Artifact behavior. Keep the route and priorities, then confirm the current tooltip before spending the run around an old interaction.
